On Tuesday morning I got to attend an intimate Urban Decay Masterclass with top makeup artist, Danielle Roberts. Tuesday was a crazy day for me, I actually did a college presentation (my first out of two for that day!) right before heading over to the Drury Buildings where the class was being held.
As it was a busy day, it was great to sit down for an hour, drink some coffee, have a chat and watch a master at work. Danielle is based in London so she flew over specially to do a few masterclasses around Ireland!
During the hour Danielle showed us how to create a gorgeous, Autumn Winter/Christmas inspired look featuring Urban Decay’s new Vice 4 palette. Think flawless base, strong highlighter, warm eyes with a hint of glitter and a strong plum lip.
I honestly picked up so many tips and tricks. There was literally so many things I never would have thought of doing!
My favourite was Danielle’s trick to creating a flawless and un-budgable base. She pumped some Naked Skin Foundation onto her palm along with some Primer Potion and a few sprays of the Chill Setting Spray. She then applied this to Michele, the gorgeous model, like you would normally with foundation. I actually tried this trick today and loved it! Someone actually complemented me saying my base looked very radiant and dewy. Delighted, so I was!
Another trick I picked up was to spray your eyeshadow brush with some setting spray before applying glittery shadows. You can see from the photos that the shimmer on Michele’s eyes really stand out. The matte rusty orange shade is “Riff” which is actually one of my favourites! Well, mine and probably every other beauty bloggers!
After watching Danielle I was ready to run to the closest Urban Decay stand and buy everything! My top picks would definitely be…
The B6 Vitamin-Infused Prep Spray: This bad boy is supposed to be amazing for your complexion and even tackles sebum build up and oiliness! Something I definitely suffer with so I think this is a must have!
Subversion Primer and Perversion Mascara: This duo is something that should be in everyone’s tool kit! First a creamy lash primer to condition and add volume to your lashes. Then the blackest mascara on the market to top it off for a dramatic look.
Lip Liner in “Blackmail”: This isn’t actually available to buy yet but as soon as it is I’m getting it! The most gorgeous deep plum liner there ever was. This liner is super smooth and can be worn alone!
Meltdown Makeup Remover: I wouldn’t have even known about this product if I hadn’t been watching products all over my hand! Danielle handed me this remover and it literally took all the product off with one swipe! I was even more impressed as I’d just tried to remove the product with a Lancome remover with no avail, a few seconds beforehand!
The Vice 4 palette will be available in selected Debenhams stores nationwide and House of Fraser, Dundrum from the 28th October for €48.
Big thanks to Roisín from Loreal for organising the event! Can’t wait for the next!
