Is there anywhere better than Ireland when it’s sunny?
At the beginning of June, our nation was blessed with the most glorious weather. There’s just something about the sun that puts people in a better mood. The commute to work doesn’t seem so bad, even work itself doesn’t seem so difficult despite being stuck in an office while the sun is shining.
A few weekends ago, Lorna and I met up to take advantage of the unprecedented weather and shoot a look. It also gave me the chance to properly try out my new camera lens. Dan got me a 35mm lens for my birthday and I’m so in love with it! Up till now I’ve just been using my kit lens, which is grand, but not exceptional! The 35mm is a huge step up and I’m really excited about the difference it makes to the quality of my pictures.
From what I’ve heard, the sun has gone into hiding again in Ireland. At the moment, I’m enjoying the blistering sun in Hong Kong. I’m also very burnt despite lathering myself in suncream… typical! But it did get me thinking how hard it can be to dress stylishly in the sweltering heat. I adore the outfit I’m wearing in this post and while it wouldn’t work in Hong Kong’s summer weather, it works perfectly in Ireland’s!
These off the shoulder shirts seem to be everywhere at the moment but whatever, I still love them! This particular shirt is from New Look but I’ve seen similar in Zara, Boohoo and Missguided. What I like about them is that they look dressy but still feel light and airy in the heat. I also picked up the white jeans in Penneys recently. I rarely opt away from classic blue denims but there’s something about a pair of white jeans that look so summery. Overall, I feel like this type of outfit is perfect for Ireland’s temperamental summer weather!
What do you think? Let me know what style trend you’re digging this summer?
