When in doubt, wear red.
A few weeks ago, the girls and I headed down to spend a night in Limerick. The Clayton Limerick kindly invited Kassi down for her actual hen but none of us could find a date to suit everyone thus, the post-hen was born! While not a typical event, we all decided that a post-hen was a fabulous idea. The five of us haven’t had much time for a catch up since Greece so a night away had to be pencilled in.
While not a typical event, we all decided that a post-hen was a fabulous idea. The five of us haven’t had much time for a catch up since Greece so a night away had to be pencilled in. If you saw my insta-stories you’ll know what we got up to but for those who didn’t, we had a great time! Apart from the crazy bank holiday traffic, the staff at the Clayton were extremely welcoming and organised a great night for us. We took a horse-drawn cart with Limerick Carriage Tours (book here for 10% off!), followed by a delicious dinner back at the hotel. We all had an early night (signs of getting old!) but the next morning was a perfect opportunity to shoot.
I picked this outfit (bar the boots) up in TK Maxx. You might recognise the skirt from my last collaboration with them! During my last visit to the store, I saw this red jumper and fell in love. I don’t usually wear such bright colours but I’ve really been digging vibrant reds lately. Maybe it’s the change of season and the autumnal influences at play! The jumper’s tassels are also a nice touch and give the look a certain je ne sais quoi.
I’ve always thought that bright reds look amazing with black leather. The two pieces are quite stand out items on their own but paired together and the outfit really pops. To finish the look I wore my Littlewoods boots (sadly discontinued) which not only look great but are seriously comfy. I guess my style lesson here is to not be afraid of straying from your comfort zone and try wearing something you wouldn’t usually. Live a little!
