A classic leather jacket can make any outfit look effortless
Would you believe that this is my first black leather jacket? I’ve wanted one for ages, but like my predicament when it came to buying a blazer, I found it incredibly tricky to find the one. Obviously, it had to look nice, but the fit and the price were equally as important to me.
Two years ago, I bought my first camel coloured leather jacket in Bershka and I absolutely loved it and still do. The only problem is that it isn’t as versatile as a black jacket can be. For the last year I’ve been searching to no avail, until a few weeks ago!
So technically, this isn’t a leather jacket but a faux leather jacket. Real leather is not only going to cost more but it also needs more care and upkeep. My Bershka jacket is real leather and I’ve noticed quite a bit of wear and tear over the years as a result of my carelessness!
I actually found this jacket online, something I never thought I’d do. I’m so wary about buying jackets or blazers online because the fit is so important but I saw this one, liked it and thought ‘sure if it’s not right I can always return it!’ Thankfully it was and I’m so pleased with it! The jacket is from Boohoo and only cost €47! I had a €40 voucher from their Xmas press day, so in total I paid €7! Score!
You just can’t beat the classic jeans and leather jacket combo. There’s something so stylish yet effortless about the whole look. These jeans are also new and I have to say, they’ve totally converted me over to the River Island Molly jeans! I was given a voucher for my birthday and for ages wasn’t sure what to buy, then my favourite pair of Penneys jeans broke so I thought I’d invest in a better pair!
The fit is just incredible, I opted for the size 10 after contemplating between the 8 and 10. River Island jeans tend to run quite small, so don’t feel disheartened if you come up a bigger size in store. I mean, I’ve a pair of Zara jeans in a 6 and a pair of H&M jeans in a 12… go figure!
I styled the jeans and jacket with a plain, grey t-shirt from Penneys. I love tucking loose tees like these into a pair of skinny jeans. The nice thing about this t-shirt is the subtle cross-over back detail, so it’s not completely plain.
I threw on a pair of black sandalled heels and my new tote from Littlewoods to finish this look off. The great thing about this bag is that it’s big enough to fit my laptop into!
