Compliment your trench coat with a sleek and polished all black outfit
I’m back with part two of my How to style a Trench Coat miniseries! Hopefully you saw my first instalment but if not you can check it out here. As I previously mentioned, I had always wanted a trench coat and when I finally bagged myself one I had no idea how to style it! My first look was a more casual, day time outfit so I thought for my second look I’d go for a dressier night time option.
The Polo Neck
As trench coats usually have a lower v-style neck I thought it’d be nice to team it with a high neck polo neck top. I picked this ribbed polo neck off H&M’s sale rack. (I think it’s pretty clear I live for a bargain 😛 ) I really liked this top as it’s quite heavy, I know it’s Spring but come on! It’s still freezing. Irish weather, eh? It also has lovely gold buttons detailed on the cuffs.
Paint it Black
Black is universally known as the most flattering colour, and why wouldn’t it be? Your body looks slimmer and your legs longer! I paired my black polo neck with black high waisted (another very flattering style!) trousers from H&M and my favourite black leather ankle boots, also from H&M. I swear this is not an ad, very much a coincidence! 😛 As I said in my last post I think fitted trousers look great with the silhouette a trench coat gives your body.
I kept it simple with the accessorises and wore my usual Coach handbag and Armani sunnies. I hope you all enjoyed this little ‘style series’, let me know what you thought below!
