Give me a suit over a dress any day
I can’t believe it, I’ve finally completed my final college exams. I celebrated by texting Lorna, grabbing my camera and organising to shoot this spring suit. It feels so good to not be worrying about exams and assessments anymore! I still have my dissertation to finish but at least I’m back at work and not stuck in a lecture hall.
When I saw this suit in Penneys I knew I had to have it. Everything about it is 100% my style. It’s the perfect mix of feminine and masculine. I was drawn in by the soft pinstripe pink and comfortable tailoring. Plus, any outfit that I can wear sneakers with and still look good in is always a winner for me.
Bar the sneakers, I picked the whole outfit up in Penneys. In total, the blazer and pants cost €34 which is so reasonable compared to so many other high street stores. As the pants are high waisted, I paired them with a cropped white t-shirt to show off some midriff.
I got the shoes a few months ago when I was in Hong Kong. They were the last pair in an Adidas outlet and I was thanking my lucky stores I nabbed them. I had been wanting a pair of Stan Smiths for ages and to pick them up with 40% off was a dream. Stan Smiths are genuinely one of my favourite shoe styles. They’re cool and comfy as fuck. They also look great dressed up or down. Mind you, mine badly need a clean right now!
Unfortunately, this suit seems to be absolutely flying out the rails of Penneys! Luckily, there are many alternatives! A lot of the main online stores – Boohoo, Missguided, PLT, Asos – stock some amazing suits and two pieces. I’m currently loving brighter colours which is a change from my usual black attire, maybe a sign that we’re finally leaving winter behind!
So let me know, what spring style are you currently loving?
