Now that I’ve started frequenting the gym, I had to invest in some gym gear
Buying clothes you’re not usually used to getting can be quite daunting at times, especially if you have no idea where to start. I find purchasing nice gym gear can be really motivating when starting out and looking good helps you feel good! I’ve compiled a few tips on how to stay savvy when buying your work out clothes!
I’ve often found you can get the best deals online or even find items that aren’t available in store. I recently purchased a pair of Nike Zoom Fits from Nike.com, they were on sale for €69 and unavailable in store as they weren’t current season. This obviously didn’t bother me in the slightest and they were exactly what I was looking for; a pair of black and white runners suitable for the gym that won’t break the bank. Delighted so I was! Nike also offer free shipping for orders over €50.
Recently online super stores such as Missguided and Boohoo have launched their own line of work out gear. They’re on trend, not too expensive and often have discount codes available. These are a great option when you want inexpensive and stylish gym gear.
Try It On
If you can, I always recommend trying things on, even if you’re not planning on buying that item from that particular shop. Before I bought my Nike runners I went into a sports shop to try on similar Nikes so I could get a feel for their sizing. Also don’t feel pressured that you have to buy from that shop just because you tried something on!
I rarely buy something the first time I see it. I’m a huge advocate for shopping around and doing my research. The other day for example, I was looking at a pair of Reebok leggings on Littlewoods for €32. After a bit of googling I found the exact same pair on Sports Direct for €21! A full €11 cheaper! That’s a prime example of why I never buy first and think later.
If you are shopping online I’d definitely advise you to read the reviews! Most online shops let customers leave reviews and their thoughts at the bottom of the page and I find they give great insight. They let you know if a particular shoe is narrow or wide fitting or if a pair of leggings lose their colour after one wash.
I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you have any good tips for buying gym gear!
