wedding_guest_outfit_tk_maxxWeddings… the ultimate excuse to dress up!

It’s safe to say we’ve seen our fair share of weddings this summer. Everywhere I look it seems like people are tying the knot.

My good friend Kassi, some of you may know her as www.justkassi.com, is getting married in a few days in Greece. I just arrived today and am so excited to be over here, soaking up the last of the summer sun and seeing one of my best friends get married!

As you know, I’ve recently been collaborating with TK Maxx (see my shopping guide here) and for this post I’ve teamed up with them to show you how you can nab the perfect wedding guest outfit for under €100! The perfect excuse to treat yo’ self… within a budget! 😉

After being given this task, I set forth and raided my local TK Maxx. I’m lucky that I work in the city centre and have both the TK Maxx in Ilac and Stephen’s Green shopping centre on my doorstep. Because of their regular deliveries, you can find so many different stand-out pieces in all their stores.

I had an idea in my head of what I wanted. Jumpsuits or a skirt and top combo can be great for a wedding but I don’t think you can beat a good dress. I came across so many beautiful dresses from minis to midis and maxis. I was originally searching for a maxi but ended up falling in love with this shorter style dress. As I mentioned in my last post, go in with an open mind because TK Maxx is full of an unexpected mix of products, at unexpected prices and you never know what you might find!

This dusty pink number is, in my opinion, the perfect wedding guest piece, from its bardot style to its pastel colour. I actually found this dress on a rare trip to Blanchardstown. The Blanchardstown store is nice and big with loads of rails and definitely worth a trip out to! Fortuitously, they were having a huge sale and I found this piece on the clearance rack. I bagged it for €30 marked down from €46, a serious bargain! I really think it looks more expensive than it was, especially due to its thick, high quality material.

After finding my dress, I headed over to the shoe department for a browse. I picked out these nude embellished designer sandals. I was pretty pleased to find these as I’d been looking out for a similar pair for a while now. The shoes were €54.99, about 60% cheaper than the RRP.

Lastly, if you’re heading to a summer wedding, especially if it’s abroad, I recommend picking up a pair of sunnies. When I was in TK Maxx last week I noticed they had loads of designer sunglasses from prices as low at €9.99. Trust me, you can never have too many pairs!
