YesStyle is now offering beauty boxes with a twist!
In recent years, beauty boxes and subscription boxes have become all the rage. With companies like ‘Glossybox’ and ‘Birchbox’ offering people monthly subscriptions of cosmetic products delivered straight to their door, it’s easy to see why.
To be honest though, they never really appealed to me. Why? Because I’d much rather spend my money buying and choosing my own makeup and a lot of what these companies offer are products you can get in your nearest beauty hall.
When I saw that online retailer YesStyle were doing their own beauty boxes I was interested, reason being was they were full of Asian beauty products. YesStyle don’t offer monthly subscriptions but instead sell a variety of boxes filled with Korean, Japanese and Taiwanese cosmetics! None of these products are available in Ireland, so it’s perfect for anyone interested in trying different cosmetic brands!
YesStyle kindly sent me their #YesStyleTop10 Korean beauty box filled with ten of their best selling products. Unfortunately, this particular box is a blogger’s exclusive but they have similar available, like this one here.
The packaging was really cute, all ten products were packed neatly in the small branded box you see above. As a beauty lover and someone who has shopped cosmetics in Asia before, I’d heard of some of the brands already like Etude House and Laneige.
Inside the box were three varieties of face masks. I love trying new face masks so was delighted that they were there! I’ve already used the Tosowoong Blackhead & Sebum Out Nose masks and the Etude House Collagen eye patches, which were lovely. You can never have enough of those blackhead masks, they’re so handy! I’ve yet to try the Tony Moly ‘I’m Real Mask Sheet’ which will be interesting as it’s broccoli infused, something I’ve definitely never seen before.
Next up were face products. It wouldn’t be a Korean beauty box without BB cream! Etude House are actually one of the most notable brands that produce BB creams which are huge on the Korean cosmetic market and make up to 13% of it.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the next product, which was the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. I’ve heard loads about Laneige and they’re quite a premium brand over in Korea. I guess this could technically count as another mask but unlike the others, this one is specially for your lips! I’ve tried this and it’s probably my favourite product out of the box. You leave it on over night and it removes any dead skin cells, leaving your lips nice and smooth.
I’ll be honest, the lip products below were my least favourite in the box. It’s just that I’m not a fan of lip tints and all three products were tints. Two of the products were from the brand Berrisom, ‘Oops My Lip Tint’ and ‘Oops Tint Cheek Cushion’ and the other was the Macqueen Cushion tint. It would have been nice to see a lipstick or lipliner in place of one or two of the tints!
Lastly, the eye products. Inside was a Beauty People Eyeliner and an Etude House Brow Gel. The eyeliner is a slightly sparkly dark brown colour with a really firm consistency. I always maintain that Asian brands do the best eyeliners! Personally, I really don’t need another brow gel as I have at least five at the moment but it’s a great addition for someone whose makeup collection is smaller than mine!
So there you have it! A quick overview of the products you can expect when buying a beauty box off YesStyle. What do you think? Would you get a Korean beauty box? Let me know in the comments below!
