Event Diary: Irish Blogger Conference

Hey everyone!

So I’m super excited writing this blog post tonight! I’m just home from Ireland’s first blogging conference held by Cool Events and Emma O’Farrell and I have to say I had such an amazing time! I was very on the fence about buying a ticket to the event but after I saw they were doing student tickets for 30 euro I said “sure feck it, what have I to lose!”. And lose I did not!

Hotel selfie!

Coolest thing ever!

The event was held in the lovely Spencer hotel and the line up included blogging greats, such as, Leanne Woodfull (Thunder and Threads), Joanne Larby (The Make-up Fairy) and Sue Jordan (Cherry Sue). Other speakers that were there included Conor Lynch (Socialmedia.ie), Rachel Farrell (Oh hey there Rachel), Nick Munier, Keith Mahon (thetaste.ie), Caroline Hennessey (bibliocook.com) and Ali Ryan (Goss.ie).

The event kicked off with Joanne Larby giving one of the most inspirational talks I’ve ever heard. The woman is an absolute powerhouse and I tip all my hats to her! I literally do not know how she does it! Next up was Caroline Hennessey, Nick Munier and Conor Lynch and then a Q&A session which was very informative.

Justyna from Dublin Simon community gave a small talk as well as they were the charity partners for the event, which was heart breaking hearing about how many poor souls will be homeless this Christmas! So I urge you all to support Simon this Christmas and give a helping hand to those less fortunate than you! ❤️

There was a tea break next and the chance to get your hands on loads of free gifts and goodies, which of course I did! Essence and Catrice sponsored the event and I can’t wait to try out the makeup I picked up from them! I’ll be posting a review soon and a giveaway for a few lucky readers!

Loads of goodies!

Myself and Leanne Woodfull

I even got to chat to Leanne Woodfull and get a picture with her! I’ve been reading Leanne’s blog for ages and one of the highlights of the day was definitely meeting her! Other goodies available were gorgeous cupcakes by “Jen’s Couture Cakes” and loads of Koh coconut water and Aloe Vera juice.

Can’t beat a cup of tea!

The healthier option ?

After the break we were back sitting down and ready to go again. Next to talk was Sue Jordan, Ali Ryan and Keith Mahon. All of them gave such fantastic insights into the world of blogging and what it entails. The last event of the line up was the 4 beauty/fashion bloggers doing a “live” blog for the audience. Basically they went through what exactly they do when the review a product, how they take their pictures and how much work they put into each post. This was super helpful!

I was so sad the event was over when it hit 5 o’clock! I had such a great time talking to fellow bloggers like Niriona (Killer Fashion), Busi Zulu (I Got It From) and Lisa McLoughlin (Lisa Lists). I recommend everyone who either has a blog or is interested in starting a blog to seriously consider going to the next blogger conference Cool Events and Emma O’Farrell are holding (which should be very soon!). It was well worth it and I came home with an abundance of knowledge, tips and tricks!

Just incase you’re wondering what I wore, here’s the deets!IMG_3702

Top: Miss Selfridge

Jeans: H&M

Boots: Boohoo

Coat (pictured above): River Island

Scarf (pictured above): Penneys

I kept my makeup nice and simple with a neutral eye and winged liner. I wore Mac’s “Ginger” lip liner on my lips.

So I hope you enjoyed my post, thought it was informative and didn’t think it was too long to read! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and whether you were at the event or not! ☺️
