Hope everyone’s recovering after their first week back to normality! I had post Christmas exams this past week and thank god they’re over is all I can say!
Today’s post is all about my favourite nude lipsticks! I love a good nude lip, when done right they look great. When I first got into makeup I thought I couldn’t wear nude lipstick because it always looked so weird on me. The problem is that the word “nude” is very broad and there’s so many different shades of nude, so you just have to test them all to find the perfect shade for you. 🙂
Essence Longlasting Lipstick in “Porcelain Doll”
I love this lipstick for many reasons! It’s a beautiful soft blush pink with a creamy texture. I usually wear a darker nude and then apply this onto the centre of my lips to give a fuller look effect. Or if I wear it by itself I pair it with the XXXL nude lipgloss in “Just Nude!” by Essence. The best part about this lipstick? It’s price! Essence are insanely cheap yet anything I’ve tried from their range has been brilliant! I believe I only paid €2.49 for the lipstick and you can find them in most chemists, Dunnes and Penneys.
Wet n Wild MegaLast Lip Colour in “Spiked with Rum”
At first glance this lipstick looks quite plum/purple coloured and it is! But personally, it’s quite close to my natural lip colour just a bit darker. So depending on your colouring this could constitute as a nude-ish lipstick! The only qualm I have about this lipstick is it’s texture is quite rough and doesn’t glide on as easy as I’d like. But at only €2.99 this is another really affordable, lovely lipstick! Wet n Wild is stocked in Dunnes and various chemists around the country.
MAC Lipstick in “Velvet Teddy”
Ok, I think everyone knows about this lipstick! 😛 It is definitely one of the best nudes going and suits so many different people. This shade of nude is perfect if you’re looking to achieve that Kylie Jenner style lip. This has a matte finish but glides on beautifully and last forever. As this is a high end brand this lipstick is a bit more pricey than the rest, €20, but I love it and would definitely re-buy. You can purchase MAC lipsticks in any Brown Thomas nationwide.
Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Nude Collection in “43”
This is another great drugstore lipstick and it smells AMAZING! It has a creamy consistency and is a similar shade to the Essence lipstick but darker. This is slightly more expensive than the other two drugstore lippies but at €6.99 it still won’t break the bank. You can find Rimmel in nearly every chemist/pharmacy in the country.
Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipstick in “Bitch Perfect”
I know this lipstick isn’t pictured here but it gets a special mention. I LOVED this lipstick and I lost it this summer! I’m even sad thinking about it. This is such a luxury product and at €30 I really can’t afford to buy another. 🙁 Of course, the only lipstick I’ve ever lost had to be the most expensive one! Typical! But if you are looking to splash out on a nice pinky nude lipstick then this one is gorgeous.
If you’re looking for a good nude lipliner to pair with your lipsticks, I recommend MAC’s lipliner in “Spice” or Urban Decay’s lipliner in “Stark Naked”.
