Give a nod to the 70’s and step out in suede
This street style post is loooong overdue, I feel like I haven’t posted one in ages! Probably because I haven’t but I blame the transition into working full time for that. Anyway, back to the fashion. The suede trend made a return last year and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. My favourite type of suede pieces are skirts and jackets, there’s just something so luxurious about them. I also wanted to shoot a look so I could debut my new hair, which I’ll talk more about below!
As soon as I bought this skirt I knew I had to shoot a look with it. I bought it a few weeks ago in Penneys for only €10, I couldn’t believe it! River Island had a pretty similar skirt for multiple times that price which is why I always look in Penneys first.
I love the cut and length of this skirt, I don’t have many midi skirts in my wardrobe which I’d like to change as I prefer them to mini or maxi skirts. The slit up the front and bow to the side really make this skirt, I don’t think I would have gone for it if it was just a plain midi.
Initially, I was going to pair the suede skirt with a light, white shirt, which would have also looked lovely but I ended up opting for this Zara sleeveless top. After trying on both tops, I concluded that the sleeves on my shirt kind of distracted away from the skirt which I wanted to be the main focal point. If you’re wearing a suede piece you can easily go plain with everything else and let the suede shine through!
This was actually my first time wearing these heels. High heeled sandals are my favourite type of heels and the most comfortable and flattering in my opinion! I picked these white, faux leather ones on sale up on Boohoo for only €14. This was a while ago mind you but Boohoo always have great sales especially for shoes, so it’s worth a look.
I think the white shoes really tie the whole outfit together and the white-nude-white combination gives it that minimalistic look that I love.
So I had to give the hair its own little mention! I was kindly invited to try out new salon, The Space, which is like something off of pinterest. It’s literally the most instagrammable place ever! I was getting real sick of my long hair (again) so I decided to go for a chop. I absolutely adore this length, I don’t think I want to go back to long hair after this! The lovely Nadine did my hair and I can’t compliment her enough, she was just so nice and my hair turned out exactly how I wanted it. Find them on Instagram and Facebook here.
