Love face masks? Have you ever heard of a mask primer?
I, like a lot of gals (and guys!) love a good face mask. There’s just something about getting that spa feeling in the comfort of your own home. I remember trying my first face mask at a sleepover when I was a pre teen. It was one of those sachets with a picture of the woman with fruit on her face, I always thought that was like false advertisement! The mask looked nothing like that! 😛
Now that I’m older I’ve tried my fair share of face masks and know which ones I like and don’t like. I’m not a huge fan of any with a wet or creamy texture and definitely prefer those that dry on your face!
A few weeks ago I picked up the Origins Clear Improvements charcoal mask with a voucher House of Fraser had given me. I’d never tried Origins before so this purchase was based purely on others recommendations! I had been wanting to try a charcoal mask for a while though as they’re great for clearing pores. The mask retails for about €20 but on that day there was an offer and I was able to throw in the mask primer for an extra €10 (saving €10). I said yes at the spur of the moment and off I went with a new mask and primer!
The Maskimizer is basically a priming mist that preps your skin and enhances your masking experience. What I found was it acts as a barrier for your skin while still allowing the face mask to do its job. Often times after taking off a mask my skin would be red and a bit irritated but after trying this my skin felt soft and plump. I’d recommend mask-loving people with dry or sensitive skin to give this product a go, even pop into your local Origins counter and ask them to try it on you. I use the mask once, sometimes twice, a week to help clear my pores focusing mainly on my t-zone.
I do realise at €20 this is quite pricey and it’s definitely a luxury product but I think it’s nice try out a few higher end products once in a while. Origins is stocked in House of Fraser and Arnotts in Dublin and Boots and Debenhams nationwide.
*I purchased this product with a complimentary gift card in no way was my opinion swayed and all are still my own 🙂
