My Summer Staples ☀️

My favourite must have pieces for your wardrobe this summer! ?

1. Kimonos

I am in love, love, love with kimonos. Last summer, I bought the most beautiful floral and blue one from Zara and it is literally my favourite summer item ever! They are so handy to throw over a pair of shorts and a plain tee and they instantly dress up a casual outfit. I found mine especially handy in Hong Kong, as the material was fairly light, perfect for if the aircon in shops/restaurants were a bit chilly and I needed to throw something over my shoulders! Add a floral crown with a kimono and a pair of shorts and you’ve got yourself the perfect festival outfit!

2. Bandeau bikinis

I don’t know how many bikini sets I own… (way too many, especially for the weather we have here ?) but my favourite style would have to be bandeaus! Personally, I like this style because it doesn’t emphasise my small chest like lots of bikinis do. Also, no weird tan lines! I just bought a beautiful, baby blue set in Penneys the other day for only 7 euro! My favourite bandeau bikini is probably my Hollister ones I got in Hong Kong. I love it even more because I got it for 50% off! I’d love to invest in a River Island bikini this year, they always have lovely ones whenever I’m in!

3. A good pair of sunnies

Finding the right type of sunglasses for your face is no easy task! I’d say I spent a good month before I finally found a pair I liked! I wear glasses everyday so it was only reasonable that I invested in a pair of prescription sunglasses. I love Rayban’s classic Wayfarers, but unfortunately, they just don’t suit my face! In the end, I found a beautiful Emporio Armani pair and I couldn’t be happier with them! Of course, I bought them in Hong Kong, where they were a lot cheaper!!

4. A good pair of sandals

There’s nothing wrong with getting cheap and chic sandals and summer footwear in places such as Penneys, but for me, especially because of my flat feet, I’ve found it’s worth spending that bit more! Ever since I was a child, I’ve always owned a pair of Birkenstock sandals. So did my parents and my siblings. My mom just finds them great and always decked us out in them! I’ve never thought they were the most fashionable shoe, so it’s quite ironic to me that they’re actually coming into fashion now! Guess I was just ahead of the times eh! ?They’re super comfy though and I wear mine everyday for around the house. I’d say my mom owns around 5 different pairs alone! Wanting to get something a bit more stylish last year, I opted for a lace up, gladiator style from Zara. Because of the detail with intertwining straps that go up to my ankle, they keep my feet in check and give me that support I need!
